Translate Chamevo into another language
Translate product customizer labels customers see using the Labels settings, and translate admin panel strings with Loco Translate.
Chamevo uses two separate systems for translation. Frontend customizer labels β the text customers see in the product builder (toolbar buttons, module names, messages) β are managed through the Chamevo Labels settings. Admin panel strings β settings page labels, WooCommerce notifications, and backend messages β are translated with Loco Translate.
Translate the Labels settings first. Most merchants only need that step.
Before you start
- Know which language or languages your store needs.
- Have admin access to the WordPress dashboard.
- Optional: install Loco Translate if you also want to translate admin panel strings.
Translate customizer labels (what customers see)
Frontend labels control all text visible to customers in the product customizer: toolbar buttons, module panel headings, action buttons, messages, and pricing text.
- Go to Chamevo β Settings β Labels.
- Labels are grouped into sections: Toolbar, Modules, Actions, Misc, Pricing, and Try-On.
- Click any label field to edit it.
- Replace the default English text with your translation.
- Click Save.
The updated labels take effect immediately for all visitors.
A few labels are multi-line text areas because they hold longer body copy rather than single button strings. The Modules group includes Images Agreement (images_agreement), the consent text shown above the upload button when Require Image Rights Confirmation is enabled in Chamevo β Settings β Features β Uploads. Translate this label whenever you enable the consent modal so customers see the agreement in their language.
Translate labels for multiple languages
If your store serves customers in more than one language, you can set separate labels for each locale. This requires WPML or Polylang.
- Go to Chamevo β Settings β General β Display.
- Enable Multi-Language Labels.
- Select the languages your store uses.
- Go to the Labels tab. A language switcher now appears at the top.
- Select each language and translate the labels for it.
- Click Save after each language.
Chamevo automatically loads the correct labels based on the active site language set by WPML or Polylang.
