Phone cases are one of the most popular custom product categories. Customers expect to see their design on a realistic case preview, select their phone model, and add photos, text, and graphics. This guide covers configuring Chamevo for a phone case product line.

What makes phone cases different

• Device variants: You sell the same case design for multiple phone models, each with different dimensions.
• Edge-to-edge printing: Most phone cases are printed edge-to-edge, so the design covers the entire case surface.
• 3D preview: Customers expect to see their design wrapped around the case, not flat.
• Photo-heavy: Phone case customers frequently upload personal photos.
• Small print area: The printable surface is relatively small, so DPI requirements are high.

Step 1: Create the product structure

For each phone model (or group of models with the same dimensions):

1. Go to Chamevo → Products and create a new product.
2. Open the product in the Product Builder.
3. Create a single view for the case back.
4. Set the stage dimensions to match the case template aspect ratio.

Add the case template

1. Add an image element with the case outline/mockup (showing the camera cutout, edges, and button areas).
2. Set it as not editable and not removable.
3. Set Exclude from Export if your printing process does not need the template overlay.
4. Place it on top of the design layer so the camera cutout is always visible.

Define the print area

1. Configure the print area to match the exact printable surface.
2. Set output dimensions to your printer's specifications (e.g., 1890×3200 pixels at 300 DPI for a standard phone case).
3. Account for bleed if your printing process wraps around the edges.

Step 2: Handle multiple phone models

Option A: WooCommerce variable product

1. Create a WooCommerce variable product with a "Phone Model" attribute.
2. Create a separate Chamevo product for each phone model template.
3. Link each WooCommerce variation to its Chamevo product.

This is the cleanest approach — each model gets the correct template and print area automatically.

Option B: Products module

1. Create multiple Chamevo products (one per phone model).
