Set up product customization for drinkware
Configure Chamevo for custom mugs, tumblers, water bottles, and other drinkware with wrap-around designs and 3D previews.
Custom drinkware β mugs, tumblers, water bottles, and wine glasses β requires wrap-around design handling, cylindrical 3D previews, and sublimation-ready output. This guide covers configuring Chamevo for drinkware products.
What makes drinkware different
- Wrap-around printing: The design wraps around a cylinder, but the customer designs on a flat surface.
- Multiple print zones: Some products have a front, back, and handle area.
- Sublimation output: Most drinkware uses sublimation printing, which requires specific output formats and color profiles.
- 3D preview: A 3D cylindrical model lets customers see how their flat design wraps around the product.
- Small text areas: The printable surface is relatively narrow vertically, limiting text size.
Step 1: Create the product structure
- Go to Chamevo β Products and create a new product.
- Open the product in the Product Builder.
For wrap-around mugs
Create a single view representing the full wrap area:
- Set the stage dimensions to match the unwrapped printable area (e.g., a standard 11oz mug has approximately a 9.5" Γ 3.75" printable area).
- The canvas will be wide and short, representing the flat wrap.
For front-and-back mugs
Create two views:
- Front β the side facing the drinker when holding the handle with the right hand.
- Back β the opposite side.
Each view has its own print area dimensions.
Add the product mockup
- Add a product mockup image (optional for wrap-around, recommended for front/back).
- Set it as not editable, not removable, and excluded from export.
Step 2: Define the print area
- Configure the print area to match the exact printable surface.
- Set output dimensions for sublimation printing:
| Product | Typical printable area | Output at 300 DPI |
|---|---|---|
| 11oz mug (wrap) |
