Set up product customization for stickers and labels
Configure Chamevo for custom stickers, labels, and decals with die-cut shapes, transparent backgrounds, and sheet layouts.
Custom stickers and labels β vinyl stickers, product labels, bumper stickers, decals, and packaging labels β have specific requirements around shape, transparency, and production output. This guide covers configuring Chamevo for sticker and label products.
What makes stickers and labels different
- Die-cut shapes: Stickers come in circles, rectangles, custom shapes, and contour cuts.
- Transparent backgrounds: Many stickers require transparent or no-background output.
- Small physical sizes: Stickers are typically small (2"β5"), so even low-resolution uploads produce acceptable results.
- Bleed requirements: Die-cut stickers need bleed margins for clean cutting.
- Batch/sheet production: Some workflows print multiple stickers per sheet.
Step 1: Create the product structure
- Go to Chamevo β Products and create a new product.
- Open the product in the Product Builder.
- Create a single view.
- Set the stage dimensions to match the sticker shape:
- Rectangle: Match the aspect ratio (e.g., 3:2 for a 3"Γ2" label)
- Circle: Use a 1:1 ratio (e.g., 600Γ600)
- Custom shape: Use the bounding box dimensions
Shape-specific background
For non-rectangular stickers:
- Add an image element showing the sticker shape (e.g., a circle outline, rounded rectangle, or custom die line).
- Set it as not editable and not removable.
- Set Exclude from Export if your output should not include the shape outline.
- This helps customers understand the printable boundary.
For rectangular stickers, a simple canvas background may be sufficient.
Step 2: Define the print area
- Configure the print area to match the actual sticker dimensions.
- Set the output DPI:
| Sticker type | Recommended DPI |
|---|---|
| Vinyl stickers | 300 |
| Paper labels |
