We would like to suggest an alternative workflow for customer image uploads in Chamevo. Currently, customer-uploaded images are handled through Upload Zones. While this works well for many use cases, uploaded graphics are treated as separate Print Areas. For businesses working with personalized print products, having a clean and predictable export structure is very important. When customer-uploaded images generate additional Print Areas, exports include extra files/views that are not always needed for final production. This makes export handling more complicated and less efficient. In our case, this creates an unnecessary additional export layer. Example: Print Area 1 = full final cover design (including text + customer photo) Print Area 2 = customer photo only The issue is that Print Area 2 generates an additional export view/file that is not actually needed for production. We only need the final combined design, but Chamevo also exports the separate uploaded image as its own Print Area, which adds unnecessary complexity to export handling. Previously, in Fancy Product Designer, customer-uploaded images worked differently, and in our case this approach was much more practical. Images could be added as editable design elements/layers, similar to text elements, instead of being handled as separate Upload Zones. This approach had several important benefits: uploaded images remained part of the final design, no additional export views were created, exports stayed cleaner and easier to process, production workflows were easier to manage. For our use case, this workflow was significantly more practical because only the final production files were exported, without additional unnecessary layers. Feature request: Please consider adding an alternative upload method where customer-uploaded images can be inserted directly as editable design elements/layers instead of being handled exclusively through Upload Zones. This would provide more flexibility and could be valuable not only for our workflow, but also for many businesses that rely on clean and efficient export structures.
