Print Profiles and Print Areas
Chamevo gives you two powerful tools to control product customization: Print Areas (where designs go) and Print Profiles (how customers can design).
This guide gives you the big picture of how Print Areas and Print Profiles work together. For detailed workflows see the related articles here and here for more information.
Print Areas
Print Areas define the regions of a product where your customers can place designs. Use them for multi-sided products (front/back cards, packaging, brochures) or for products with custom shapes (stickers, labels).
Key features:
- Add multiple print areas per view (front, back, sides, etc.).
- See the active area with a checkmark icon.
- Zoom in/out for precision editing.
- Use SVG masks for custom shapes.
- Automatic bleed, crop marks, and correct sizing.
- Elements stay inside their area with boundary controls.
How to create a Print Area (Quick Start):
- Go to Chamevo → Products
- Click on Layers Icon to expand views
- Select **Edit In Product builder **

- Click Print Settings to open new menu on right hand side.

- Name your Print Area and define the region (size, position, or load an SVG mask).
- Save – your customers can now design within that area.
Print Profiles
Print Profiles control what design tools your customers can use and how pricing rules are applied.
Key features:
- Apply profiles at product, view, or print area level.
- Decide which tools are available (text, image uploads, colors, effects, fonts).
- Add pricing rules that adjust automatically.
- Create unlimited custom profiles for different product types.
- Use inheritance – broad rules at product level, specific overrides at view or area level.
How to create a Print Profile (Quick Start):
- Go to Chamevo → Print Profiles
- Click Add New Profile
- **Name your Profile **and click **Add **

- Edit Profile **→ ** Choose which design tools to enable and set pricing logic.
- **Save Changes **

- Go to Chamevo → Products
- Click on Layers Icon to expand views
- Select **Edit In Product builder **

- Save – the customer interface adapts automatically.
Putting it all together
- Print Areas = define where customers can design.
- Print Profiles = define how they can design (and what it costs).
