Print Profiles: A Smarter Way to Customize Your Products

Welcome to Print Profiles – the feature that gives you complete control over your product customization, ensuring a smooth and tailored design experience. Whether you’re designing a business card, t-shirt, or custom mug, Print Profiles let you control:

  • Which tools are available (text, images, effects)
  • How pricing adjusts based on design choices
  • Which areas of the product are customizable

Key Features of Print Profiles

  1. Hierarchical Assignment: Profiles can be assigned at the Product, View, or Print Area level. More specific settings override broader ones.
  2. Customization Tool Control: Choose which design tools are available based on product and customer needs.
  3. Pricing Logic Integration: Automatically adjust prices for extra images, premium features, or other options.
  4. Feature Availability Matrix: Control which features are available for different product types. Example: A business card may limit effects, while a poster offers full design freedom.
  5. Dynamic Tool Adaptation: The interface adapts to show only relevant options for each product, keeping things clean and focused.
  6. Custom Profile Creation: Create unlimited custom print profiles for specific business needs, product categories, or customer segments.

Note: This guide highlights some of the most commonly used settings, such as allowed file types, minimum DPI, and design categories, but Print Profiles include many more options for full customization.

Understanding Print Profiles

Master vs Override

Option

Description

Master

Default system settings applied to all profiles.

Override

Customize settings for a specific print profile without affecting others.

1.Where You Can Apply a Print Profile

Print profiles follow a hierarchical order:

  1. Master Print Profile – Default for all products
  2. Product Settings – Overrides master profile for that product
  3. Print Settings of a View – Overrides product-level profile for that view
  4. Single Print Area – Overrides product and view profiles for that area

Selecting a profile in Product Settings applies it to all views and print areas.

Selecting a profile for a single print area overrides the product-level profile for that area only.
