Migrating from Fancy Product Designer to Chamevo

Chamevo uses the same data structure as Fancy Product Designer. Your existing FPD products will work with Chamevo without needing to recreate them. A migration tool is available for transferring specific data sets like UI layouts.



Will My Existing FPD Products Work?


Yes. Chamevo is built on the same data structure as FPD, which means:


  • Your existing products work with Chamevo
  • Product configurations transfer seamlessly
  • Customer designs are preserved
  • No need to recreate products from scratch


You can activate Chamevo and your products will continue functioning.



Is There a Migration Tool?


Yes. Chamevo includes a migration tool for transferring specific data sets from FPD:


What the migration tool handles:

  • UI Composer layouts and customizations
  • Design assets (graphics, fonts, colors, text templates)
  • Product templates and configurations
  • Custom settings


To use the migration tool:

  1. Install and activate Chamevo plugin (keep FPD active)
  2. Navigate to: Chamevo → Dashboard
  3. Find the migration tool section
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions



Migration Steps


Step 1: Install Chamevo


  1. Purchase subscription at chamevo.com/pricing
  2. Check discount eligibility: sr.chamevo.com/discount-generator
  3. Download plugin from your account
  4. Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  5. Install and activate Chamevo



Step 2: Run Migration Tool


  1. Go to: Chamevo → Utilities
  2. Locate the migration tool
  3. Review what will be migrated
  4. Start the migration process
  5. Wait for completion



Step 3: Verify Products


After migration, check your products:

  1. Go to: Chamevo → Products
  2. Open a few products and verify:
  • Product views are present
  • Customization options work
  • Design elements load correctly


  1. Test on the front-end:
  • Open product page
  • Click customize
  • Test adding text, images, design elements
  • Complete a test order



Step 4: Check UI Customizations


If you customized the designer interface in FPD:

  1. Go to: Chamevo → UI Composer
  2. Verify your UI layout transferred correctly
  3. Test the customizer interface on front-end
  4. Adjust if needed



Step 5: Test Checkout & Orders


  1. Add a customizable product to cart
  2. Complete checkout
  3. Verify order appears in: Chamevo → Orders
  4. Check that design information is captured



Step 6: Deactivate FPD


Once everything is verified and working:


  1. Go to: Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Deactivate Fancy Product Designer
  3. Test your store again with FPD deactivated
  4. If everything works, you can delete FPD plugin
