How to Set Prices for Design Elements

You can charge customers for adding text, uploading images, or using graphics in their designs. This guide explains how to set flat prices for these elements in Print Profiles.

This is different from Pricing Rules, which allow dynamic pricing based on conditions. The prices explained here are flat fees added when customers use specific design elements.

Setting Prices for Text Elements

  • Navigate to Chamevo > Print Profiles
  • Select your print profile
  1. Click on Custom Text Properties in the left sidebar
  2. Click the Advanced tab
  3. Click Override to customize for this profile
  4. Enter the price in the Price field (e.g., 5)
  5. Click Save Changes

Now when customers add text to their design, this price will be added to the product total.

Setting Prices for Uploads

  • Navigate to Chamevo > Print Profiles
  • Select your print profile
  1. Click on Uploads & Design Properties in the left sidebar
  2. Click the Advanced tab
  3. Click Override to customize for this profile
  4. Enter the price in the Price field (e.g., 10)
  5. Click Save Changes

This price applies when customers upload their own images and graphics.

Setting Prices for Graphics

You can set prices for graphics at two levels: category level or individual graphic level.

Set Price for Entire Category

  • Navigate to Chamevo > Graphics
  • Locate the category you want to price
  1. Click the Edit Options button (gear icon)
  2. Toggle Enable Options to ON
  3. In the Price field, enter the price (e.g., 10)
  4. Click Save Changes

This price applies to ALL graphics in that category.

Set Price for Individual Graphics

  • Navigate to Chamevo > Graphics
  • Select a category to view its graphics
  1. Click the Edit Options button (gear icon) on a specific graphic
  2. Toggle Enable Options to ON
  3. In the Price field, enter the price (e.g., 10)
  4. Click Save Changes

This price applies only to that specific graphic.

Understanding the Pricing Hierarchy

Prices are applied based on this hierarchy:

1. Individual Graphic Price (Most Specific)

  • If you set a price for a specific graphic, that price is used

2. Category Graphic Price

  • If no individual price is set, the category price is used

3. Upload Price (Fallback)

  • If graphics have NO price set (price = 0), uploaded images use the Upload price
  • If graphics have a price set, that price overrides the Upload price

Best Practices

Set Zero to Make Free:

  • Set price to 0 to make an element free
  • Leave price empty to inherit from parent (category or upload price)

Be Consistent:

  • Use similar pricing for similar elements
  • Clearly communicate pricing to customers

Test Your Pricing:

  • Add elements to a test product to verify prices are applied correctly
  • Check that the product total updates as expected

Troubleshooting

Price not appearing?

  • Ensure you clicked Override before setting the price
  • Make sure you clicked Save Changes
  • Check that Enable Options is toggled ON for graphics

Wrong price showing?

  • Check the hierarchy: individual graphic > category > upload
  • Verify which price is actually set (0, empty, or a value)

Graphics showing upload price?

  • Graphics with no price set (empty or 0) will use upload price if configured
