Allowed File Upload Types & DPI Restrictions
The Allowed File Upload Types & DPI Restrictions settings ensure that customers only upload files that are both compatible and meet your minimum quality requirements. By controlling accepted formats and required resolution, you maintain consistent, professional print results and avoid issues with low-quality or unsupported uploads.
Why It Matters
Different file types serve different purposes. Choosing the right ones ensures sharp, scalable, and print-ready results for your products.
Supported File Types
- JPEG – Best for photos. Requires minimum DPI for good results.
- PNG – Ideal for logos and designs with transparency. ✅ Recommended for shirts and apparel.
- SVG – Scalable vector graphics that stay sharp at any size. ✅ Great for logos and detailed line art.
- PDF – Print-ready format with high-quality output. ✅ Excellent for professional print jobs.
Setting Minimum DPI (Resolution)
To avoid blurry prints, you can define a minimum DPI (dots per inch).
Threshold | Quality Level |
|---|---|
< 300 DPI | Low (not recommended) |
300–600 DPI | Medium |
> 600 DPI | High (best for large prints) |
Where to Configure
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard→ Navigate to: Chamevo → Print Profiles → Edit Profile**
- Find the Allowed File Upload Types option.
- Select file formats and DPI requirements.
- Save your profile.
1. Allowed File Types
The Allowed File Types setting lets you control which file formats customers can upload during the design process. You can select from commonly used formats like JPEG, PNG, SVG, and PDF.
This ensures that only compatible formats are accepted, keeping the upload process clean and preventing unsupported file types from being used in your products.
You can configure this at the Master level to apply globally, or use the Override option to set different file type rules for specific print profiles.

DPI Restrictions
The DPI Restrictions section allows you to define the required and rated image resolution for uploads. This helps ensure that customers provide images suitable for high-quality printing.
The available settings are:
- Minimum DPI – The lowest DPI allowed for JPG and PNG uploads. Files below this value will be blocked.
- Image Quality Low DPI – Threshold for files considered low quality.
- Image Quality Mid DPI – Threshold for medium-quality image ratings.
- Image Quality High DPI – Threshold for high-quality image ratings.
These thresholds are used to assess and rate uploaded images, ensuring you maintain consistent quality across different products. Just like with file types, you can apply these values globally or override them for specific profiles when needed.

Best Practices
- Always recommend PNG, SVG, or PDF for sharp designs.
- Use JPEG only for high-quality photos.
- Enforce stricter DPI rules on products requiring fine details (e.g., posters, apparel).
